A Village Inside A Fortress — Wine, Tour & Chef Dinner
Dates & Times
A trip with the tour guide Ayelet Bar Meir in honor of the Spring Festival.
A trip to the Christian village of Mi’ilya and a stroll through its blooming alleys is like jumping into Mediterranean Europe. It is a unique and beautiful village with warm people that preserves the presence of the Crusaders and other distant periods that blend with progress.
We will start at the Julia Winery, a boutique family winery, with a fascinating meeting and tasting of three of the winery’s leading wines.
From there we will continue to tour the alleys of Mi’ilya between courtyards, houses, a Crusader fort, a church, and many fascinating stories about the village and its history with an easy and moderate climb to the ancient part of the village. There we will visit the church, the houses inside the fort, and the magical building of the Chateau du Roi. We will meet Salma, an energetic entrepreneur and the owner of Chateau du Roi, with a strong love for the archeology of the village. We follow Salma on a tour of the secrets of the building, the Crusader Tower and the restaurant building.
We will finish with a special and wonderful chef dinner for the participants, at the Chateau du Roi restaurant.
