Sunset Hike to the Blossoming of the White Lily at the Tzurim CliffThu May 14
Dates & Times
The cliff of Tzurim, towering powerfully above the Lower Galilee, offers the traveler one of the most impressive views in Israel. From the heights of the Upper Galilee and south, everything seems small, picturesque, and quiet.
Tour Guide Eitan Omer invites you to one of the most beautiful sections of the hike that can be done at dusk ― surrounding Mount Shazor.
These days, the beauty of our wildflowers is blooming here ― the white lily!
From the northern end of the Harashim village, we will set out on the “White Lily Trail”, which blooms here in several concentrations among the rocks of the geological “Pek’in Rift”. Due to the soil conditions, climate and abundant rainfall, several other rare plants grow here.
Once we find it, we will be excited and of course take pictures ― we will set out on the ultimate sunset route: ascend lightly in the darkness of the green forest, with the remnants of the spring bloom that is still here even in mid-May to the cliff lookout at the top of Mount Shazor. From here you can see everything ― water to the Golan, from the Galilee to Samaria. The setting sun from the west will only paint everything in spectacular colors.
This section is currently being marked for the first time as part of the Beit HaKerem Trails project that Eitan is leading in the Galilee and will be inaugurated these days.
At the end of this beautiful tour, we will reach the remains of a strange stone structure. This is an old tiger trap, which also often has stories behind it.
