Clay Workshop & Cheese Dinner at the Flora Flourishing Cheese DairyThu May 14
Dates & Times
The Flora Dairy and Studio Lil in a collaboration full of beauty, aesthetics, and flavors on the occasion of the Spring Festival.
We will meet at the Flora Flourishing Cheese Dairy in the beautiful Kibbutz Lotem, enjoying a breathtaking panoramic view and clear air. We will begin with an experiential ceramics workshop to create a decorated serving plate led by artist Liat Gilad, a goldsmith and ceramist. Immediately after that we will enjoy a boutique cheese and wine dinner. The meal will include a guided tasting of the cheeses from the Flora Dairy’s cheesemaker, Azi Miterni, whose cheeses have won many international awards.
The Meal Menu:
- Flora Cheese Plate: Flora cheeses, cooked fruit, fresh fruit, beet slices with blueberry and walnut, vegetables, spelt crackers, butter-pecorino sage-poppy seed cookie, slice of toasted bread
- Green Salad: Lettuce, citrus vinaigrette, Sainte-Maure de Touraine, walnuts.
A glass of wine for each participant.
Purchase works from the Studio Lil Gallery at a variety of prices.
At the end of the meeting, you will go home with a full stomach, and you will leave the plates to dry and fire in a ceramic oven at 1200 degrees. After two or three weeks, you can collect the plates or have it delivered to your home for an additional fee.
Flora Flourishing Cheese ― an artisanal sheep dairy located in Kibbutz Lotem in the Lower Galilee, specializing in the production of cheeses from sheep and goat milk and hosting a contemporary gastronomic vision. The cheeses are classic cheeses with French influences ― lactic cheeses, mold cheeses, rind-washed cheeses, hard cheeses, and soft cheeses. Adjacent to the dairy’s production space, with only a glass display case separating the two spaces, there is a wonderfully cozy hospitality space where Flora hosts with a tight menu of bites based purely on cheeses and a carefully selected wine menu that matches the cheeses produced on site.
Lil Studio ― A studio for handmade gold jewelry and ceramics by artist Liat Gilad, operating in Kibbutz Ga’aton. A place where hands are always working and fingers are like threads emerging from the heart, laboring in the quiet act of creation and the realization of ideas and thoughts in material.
The Lil Studio offers three main areas of creation:
- Professional Goldsmith ― pure 14k and 925 silver jewelry, with unique influences with natural stones and specializing in luxurious piercing jewelry.
- Handmade Ceramics ― sculptural and functional works from black, white and terracotta clay, with an emphasis on rich textures and exposed clay. Combination of natural materials: driftwood, stones, gold leaf, and unique elements.
- Paintings and Calligraphy ― works in ink and natural materials such as henna, earth colors, and charcoal.
